University of the District of Columbia Athletic Department Launches Website Redesign at UDCFirebirds.com

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia Athletic Department has announced the launch of the new and improved athletics website at UDCFirebirds.com. The website, which is hosted by Presto Sports, features a new, sharp look, increased photo clarity, new navigation buttons, enhanced video capabilities, and other advanced features.

Director of Athletics Patricia Thomas said the website redesign is exceptional, and lauded the school's communications team.

"We are very excited about the interaction this will allow us to have with our fans, student-athletes, and the community," Thomas said. "We now have a website that is consistent with the vision, goals, and needs of the Athletic Department. Our communications team worked very hard to not only create a state of the art website, but to finish the project ahead of schedule and at no cost to the University."

Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Communications, Matt Rienzo said it was essential to give the website a facelift as part of the department's ongoing efforts to build the Firebird brand.

"Udcfirebirds.com is the first point of contact for prospective student-athletes, parents, fans, community members, current student-athletes, coaches, opposing teams, faculty, and staff," Rienzo said. "The website pulls everything together in one comprehensive location for all of our constituents to view, learn, engage, and consume the Firebird brand. Special thanks go out to the staff at Presto Sports, especially Anne Marie Person and Ted Bardach, for making it a seamless transition and for helping us launch the site ahead of schedule. Also, our Sports Information Director, Eric Zedalis, did a phenomenal job and was instrumental in making this happen."

The new website features an increased presence for the Athletics Hall of Fame, Firebird Blog, Firebird Fan Podcast, all the social media outlets, and many other features.  The website also includes a much more prominent and visible location for the increasing Firebird video content.
