Lady Firebirds win Bowie State 5k Challenge

Bowie, MD: October 8, 2008—The UDC Lady Firebirds won the Bowie State University Homecoming 5 K Challenge on Wednesday, in Bowie, Maryland with junior Stellah Sang (Kapsabet, Kenya) finishing in first place with the time of 19:07, and claiming the top four places in the Meet. Sophomore Demia Franklin (Baltimore, MD) finished in 2nd place with the time of 22:47.  Also finishing high were freshman Kaneesha Hollis (Greensboro, MD) 3rd place, and coming in 4th place was junior Maurisa Williams (Sicklerville, NJ). It was an outstanding event for the Lady Firebirds.
